P16 Zone
P-16 Zone for Student Achievement (“the Zone”):
The Zone is made up of a community of high-needs schools located in geographically-defined areas of urban communities. Zone schools support the learning needs of children across a P-16 range: pre-kindergarten, elementary, middle, high school and through college.
- CUE is launching its first Zone northwest of MSCD's campus in Fall 2010. Because children and families in this area are highly mobile and often cross district boundaries, the Zone may include schools in multiple high-needs districts. Following careful evaluation of a five-year pilot, CUE will determine the development of Zones in other urban communities throughout the Denver Metropolitan area.
- CUE partners will guide, advise, and support children and their families to prepare for meeting successful educational, career and workforce goals (including urban teaching).
